Entering Tibet “ The Roof of the World” from Kathmandu on a motorcycle is unprecedented to any other kind of tours in term of excitement and adventures. The 9 day adrenaline-packed motorcycle adventure tour takes you past the highest peak along great Himalayas to ‘The Tibetan Plateau” that encompasses pristine alpine lakes, glaciers, Buddhist sites, etc. all the way to the Lhasa, the spiritual heart of Tibet. This tour is carefully prepared taking consideration to complete the overland tour blissfully, safely and tirelessly in short time. Destination:  Peikutso lake – Yamdrok Lake – Shigatse – Tashilhunpo Monastery – Rongbuk Monastery – Mt. Everest – Gawu La Pass (5198m) – – Manak Dam Lake – Korola Glacier – Potala Palace

Requirements: 3 working days is required for visa processing. All riders to arrive 3 days early prior to the tour departure date.

Detail Itinerary:

Day 1: Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (137km, 7 hrs)

After breakfast, you will be picked up from hotel at 8:30 am and drive to motorcycle store. Then, we begin our motorcycle adventure by riding toward the border area, close to Tibet. Whilst on the ride  along the hilly terrain we see deep gorges, snow-capped mountains, cascading river on the way. Today we ride across Langtang National ParkStay overnight in village guest house in Syabrubesi

Day 2: Syabrubesi to Kyirong (2700m, 40km, 4-5hrs)

After breakfast, we will ride 15km toward border to enter Tibet. There, we will introduce you to our guide in China side. Then we will ride 1 hour to Kyirong (2800m) which is surrounded by lofty snow-capped mountains and dense forests. In the afternoon, you take a stroll to visit Paba Temple (2850m), Gelugpa temple built by Tibetan King Songtsan Gambo at the proposal of his wife Nepali princess Bhrikuti. The Nepali style temple with delicate murals is only within minutes’ walk from your hotel. Stay overnight in Kyirong Hotel

Day 3: Kerung – Tingri (4300 M)/Lhatse (4350 M: 225 Kms/244 Kms) 

Uphill drive to the highest plateu of the world enjoying breathtaking views of  Mt Cho Oyu (8201 M),& Mt Xishapagma (8021 M) but dwarfed by vastness of Tibetan plateau. One can enjoy the magnificent view of Mt Everest (8848 M) from Tingri. We ride pass through Peikutso lake and grassland.

Day 4: Tingri – EBC – Tingri (5380m, approx 130 Kms)

After breakfast, we ride to Everest Base Camp and visit the world highest Monastery, the Rongbuk Monastery. On the way, you can view the jaw dropping panoramic Himalayan Mountain Range at Gawu La Pass (5198m). After visiting Everest Base Camp, we will ride back to Tingri. Stay overnight in Tingri Hotel

Day 5: Tingri to Shigatse (280km, 7 hrs)

After breakfast, today we will ride from Tingri to Shigatse. On the way, you will visit the 5000m G318 National Highway milestone in Lhatse. After your arrival in Shigatse in the early afternoon, you will visit the seat of Panchen Lama – Tashilunpo Monastery, one of the most important monasteries in Tibet. Stay overnight in Shigatse hotel

Day 6: Shigatse to Lhasa via Gyantse (375km) 

Today, we will ride to Lhasa via Gyantse. On the way you can see many Tibetan farmer villages. After arriving in Gyantse, you will visit Heritage town Gyantse old street and Perklor Monastery, Kumbum stupa. Then you will also visit Manak Dam Lake, Korola Glacier and Yamdrok Lake on the way to Lhasa. Stay overnight in Lhasa

Day 7: Lhasa Tour – Potala Palace, Johkang Temple, and Barkhor Street 

After breakfast, you will visit the Potala Palace which is winter palace of the Dalai Lama. It was put to use since the 7th Century by the 33rd great king of Tibet. The most valuable collections of Potala Palace are the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet. After lunch, you will visit Jokhang temple which was founded by the 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century. Inside the temple, you can see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve. Outside, you can see pilgrims making prostrating in front of Jokhang Temple. Around the temple is Barkhor street, where you can do kora (a religious circle of a building or mountain) with pilgrims and locals, and explore the old market. We can taste Tibetan tea with locals in the tea house. Stay overnight in Lhasa

Day 8: Lhasa Tour – Drepung and Sera Monastery 

After breakfast, you will visit Drepung Monastery which is one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet, founded in 1416 by Jamyang choge, one of the Tsongkhapa’s main disciples. You will see biggest monastery kitchen inside the monastery and enjoy Buddhist Sculpture Carving workshop near Drepung.

In the Afternoon, you will visit Sera Monastery which is another one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet. The hot attraction is the Monks debating in the courtyard of SeraMonastery. In addition, you will see colorful rock painting of Buddha and see the three sand Mandalas in Sera Monastery. After that, you will visit Tibetan religious text printing house.

In the evening, we get together for dinner to bid  farewell from Lhasa. Stay overnight in Lhasa

Day 9: Depart from Lhasa

Today, you will be transferred to airport in accompany with your guide and help you get on board.

Requirement for Reservation
1. Non Refundable but transferrable advance deposit of 10% of the total cost to be made to secure your place at least 3 months in advance to departure date followed by 25% of the total cost of the tour to be made before 30 days of the tour start date.
